AV Students Learn Forgiveness

Recently Allisonville Elementary students had the privilege of attending a special student screening of the new documentary “Eva,” a project of  WFYI, the Heartland Film Festival, and Newfields.  This WFYI/Ted Green Films documentary shows Eva Mozes Kor’s life as a Holocaust survivor and her journey of ultimately finding healing through forgiveness. Students were able learn firsthand the powerful message of hope, healing, and humanity that is so important for students today.

On Monday, September 17th, students met Eva at the Newfields for a student only screening of the condensed one-hour educational version of the film. In conjunction with the film viewing, students also made seed paper flowers with wildflowers seeds and planted them in a forgiveness garden dedicated to Eva. Students learned from Eva that having a forgiveness garden is part of her dream for forgiveness.
