Learning Under the Sun (LUS) is a summer science-enrichment program for students entering grades 4-8.   LUS celebrates over 25 years of operation!   The theme for the 2017 LUS program is “Science Sleuths Using Technology – Part II”.  Each day will be packed with exciting hands-on lessons where students will participate in high tech experiments, using green screen technology, and be lead by a SKYPE master as they communicate with schools and scientists around the world.  Throughout the two weeks, students will hike, travel to a cave, visit the Indianapolis 500 track, and go to museums.   Our overnight trip will be at Indiana University.  We will work with IU students using coding.  We will eat at the university, go swimming and spend the night in one of the dorms.  The next morning we will visit a cave before returning to Nora at 12:30 p.m.

Transportation to all field experiences will be provided by LUS. Parent(s)/guardian(s) must provide daily transportation to the base location at Nora Elementary School, 1000 East 91st Street. All materials, equipment, and supplies are provided, as well as breakfast and lunch.
